SHAVUOT

Stained Glass Window

#8 (size 21 x 57")
SHAVUOT
Receiving the Ten Commandments

The last windows in this sequence of Jewish Celebrations is the spring festival of Shavuout. This is a time to remember when Moses received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai during The Exodus. It is said that flowers bloomed throughout the desert when that event occurred. Like so many of the Jewish festivals and holidays, Shavuot not only celebrates an historical event, but also an agricultural one as well, in this case being the spring wheat harvest.
