paper cutout collage, daily journal ephemera, absorbent and  plastic paper; gouache, pastel, tempera paint -
22 1/2" x 30" - 2006

In Judaism, an ethical life is an expression of righteousness or tzedukah. For many men and women, how we care for our elderly or frail parents embodies this theme of unselfish giving to others. This artwork, reminiscent of a comforting quilt, incorporates fragments from a daily journal that recorded the acts of loving kindness from one family member to another. This art pays tribute to all caregivers in our families and our community who bring tzedukah to those whom they love and honor.

This work was part of The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s exhibition, Tzedukah: The Art of Giving,  held at The Breman Museum in Atlanta –August 17-October 22, 2006.
