Torah Circling
Marker pen drawing, (11x14"), 1999

When the artist needed a senior citizen to depict in this TRADITION series, she chose her father-in-law Harry, of blessed memory. In this drawing, Harry and others hold onto the Torahs while marching around the synagogue sanctuary to celebrate the annual holiday of Simchat Torah, rejoicing of Torah, denoting the final reading from The Old Testament and beginning again with reading the first chapter of Genesis.
