Sabbath Queen Bride II
paper cutout, pastel, gouache, 19x29", 1995

The Shabbat, or in English known as the Sabbath, is often symbolized in Jewish folklore as a bride for her beauty and a queen for her rules. Here she is seen entering our world after sundown on Friday evening, hearing the singing of L¹ho do di welcoming the peace of Shabbat into our homes and lives.
