L'Dor V'Dor: From Generation to Generation
18” x 13” Assemblage Mixed-Media: Washboard, Photographs, Crochet Doilie, Fabric, Ephemera, Stamps, Paper Cutouts 2008
Spanning Five Generations, Using Found Objects And Ephemera, Evokes Memories Of The Past With Hopes For The Future.

Using an old washboard as the support for this work punctuates warm childhood
memories of Grandma Celia who washed clothes on such a board. Photo cutouts
of ancestors from the Shtetels of Eastern Europe, a young couple circa 1930,
my husband, his father of blessed memory, and a grandchild along with a crochet
doilie form their own rhythms in line and color. Perhaps the concept
of everlasting life translates into the memory we cherish for those we loved,
and who loved us.
