Mixed-Media: Crochet Tablecloth, paper cutout, fabric, ribbon, trim, 38” x 68” 2009
Inspiration from Torah, the Old Testament – Book of Genesis – Beresheit, Chapter 1, 6:8
6. And God said:”Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8. And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

The work reveals the second day of creation as part of my new series to express The Creation Story- a universal narrative shared and appreciated by Judaism as well as Christianity, Islam and other faiths and traditions. A found textile as support, with paper cutout collage, becomes intertwined in 144 squares with fragments of fabrics and assorted trims which then become transformed into spontaneous patterns of line, color, shape and texture.
