Georgia - The Past

Rosefsky, in a Georgia Council of the Arts one week residency (spring, 2002),
worked with all the third grade classes at Manning Oaks Elementary School
in Alpharetta, GA to create a triptyk of three paper cutout murals that encompassed
the theme of "Georgia - Past, Present and Future". The students
engaged with the artist each day, learning about the entire visual arts process
beginning with "idea brainstorming" and "thumbnail" sketches,
to creating their paper cutout using library or other reference material
and then designing the actual murals before gluing their cutouts as a mural
collage. The triptyk became a legacy project to be enjoyed by students, teachers,
staff and visitors for years to come.
